Last night a Community Meeting was held at the Riverview Elementary School Library to gather public input on the project. About 30 people attended, representing a vibrant mix of neighbors, parents, teachers, staff and project team members.

Thank you again for joining us at Riverview this week - our community really appreciated your presence. I have a question regarding the schedule - my recollection is that Riverview and Machias will be entering the Freshman campus in Sept. 2009 with the hopes of entering their new schools sometime Jan. 2011. Thanks for your comment and I see you're paying attention! I had a typo in the Project Schedule post below, which has now been corrected. It now says "from the end of school in June 2009 until school resumes at the end of Winter Break in January 2011."
Staff and teacher materials will be moved to the Freshman campus as soon as the 2008-2009 school year ends in June 2009. The students will occupy that site when the 2009-2010 school year begins in September 2009. The move back into the new schools will occur during Winter Break in December 2010 and students will return to the new schools in January 2011.
So, the schools will operate at the Freshman Campus for Fall '09, Spring '09 and Fall '10.
